The Week in Review

We had a good week- actually I would say it was a great week except the Cavs lost to the Celtics again and that pretty much ruined 3 hours of my Thursday night- but I digress. We had visits from a few of our best friends, ate a lot of BBQ, and I landed a job with a great company. So now not only do I get to see Kelly every day at work but I also can afford to put Pampers on Chewie's backside. Hoooraaaayyy!!!!

So in light of a busy week and my slow recovery on this Sunday afternoon I'm just going to provide some pictures and recap the significant events of the week. And I know this is a baby blog but we still like to have a good time and it's great to see everyone's reaction to the growing belly, so it's all related.


Lil Kim and Big Erik came in from Vegas and stayed at the house for a week. Let me first say that they are the model house guests. Erik and I are apparently good luck for each other as he landed a job a few days after I did. Maybe next time he comes to town we'll both get promotions. Erik- I will buy you a plane ticket for next week!

Josh was back in town on spring break (sidenote: I am extremely jealous that they both still get a spring break) and it was Emily's 22nd birthday. We smashed some BBQ at County Line before hitting the town on Saturday night. As you can see, Josh really likes BBQ.

I just want to point out that Chris's rack of ribs is spilling over the sides of his 14 inch plate. He wasn't man enough to finish it all in one sitting but we've kind of grown to expect that from him. Hi Chris!

Sonya took this shot of Kelly and me after we had stuffed our faces with brisket and mac and cheese. I had a serious food baby and Kelly had a serious real baby.

After dinner we made a brief stop at Donn's Depot. It was our first trip and I'm not sure what the atmosphere is normally like but we felt a little out of place so we moved on pretty quickly. We did have time to take a "I'm at the prom with my pregnant girlfriend" picture at Kelly's request. In case you're wondering, that's supposed to be a look of shock and stupidity on my face.

I gave Chewie some love at the next stop. The doctors and books all say that at this point the baby can hear my voice since it's low. If that's true then its first words are going to be the Bears fight song. I really don't know how much the baby is hearing but I will say it's pretty cool to put my head on Kelly's belly and talk for a little while- especially since I can actually feel where it's sitting right now. It's mostly low and left lately and has been kicking a lot more lately. I'm still waiting to feel it myself, but Kelly says it's pretty cool.

On Sunday we caught up with Ben "Milhaus" Mathes for lunch. He was in town for a bachelor party and probably doesn't remember meeting up with me on Saturday night but it happened. Kelly and I stuffed ourselves at Austin Java and caught up with Milhaus for a while. Then we drove him to the airport and sent him back to Chicago.

So that was our week. Now I'm going to let my TV watch me sleep for a little while...
