Cat's Out of the Bag... and the Dog's In One

It's official. We are having a boy! I broke the news to the folks this week and thanked them for letting me share with them, so you no longer have to hold your tongue. And now I can refer to him with the correct pronoun instead of the ambiguous "it". I will admit that I thought we were having a little girl- probably because that's what everyone else was telling me- but we are both happy either way. Although, the pressure is already on for bambino #2 to be a girl so we can get back to a balanced household.

What else is new?... We've had a couple busy weekends lately and it's not slowing down any time soon. After weeks of phone tag and mismatched schedules we finally got together with Marc and Sarah for dinner a couple weekends ago at one of our favorite spots- Z Tejas. Sarah is about a month ahead of Kelly and they are having a little girl. So you can only imagine the fear in Marc's eyes when he found out we are having a boy :)

We also had doggie cousin Donkey back for a visit. He and Tater wore each other out and annoyed Bella. Tater and Donkey also competed for most ridiculous tongue-hanging-out-of-mouth pose. I think Tate was the winner this time...

Tater as a wombat.

I have to say this is the most ridiculous picture I've seen of Tater. He stayed like this for a good 5 minutes, almost like he was frozen in fear. Such a strange dog...

Bella also tried to get in on the action but she is lazy and decided to sleep instead.

This past weekend we had the 2nd annual SXSW Crawfish Boil and the feast was even tastier than last year. There was a good turnout and not one single crawfish went uneaten. Pics of the carnage are below:

These guys had a duel to see who would be eaten first.

Kelly started prenatal yoga this week in hopes to alleviate some of her growing pains and get a little exercise as well. Soon we start our birthing classes and parenting instruction as well. So far all I know how to do is splash milk on my wrist to see if it's too hot, but many thanks to our friend Chris for this link which will surely help us become better parents: Dos and Don'ts with Babies

Kelly also had her 24 week checkup today and got back more positive news. Mama and baby are healthy and there were no issues. She received a compliment from Dr. J because she is right on her target weight. This made Kelly very happy, which makes things better for me, and that makes me very happy. So thanks to Dr. J for the compliment and thanks to my wife for being healthy. Good work team!

I leave you all with this short video, which will give you an idea of what we dealt with for 5 days (thank you Sonya for that extra day) while Donkey was staying with us.
